For wood floor restoration work we use professional machines using grits (like sand paper) of which there are many grades. The heaviest grade is used to strip the floor, finishing with the lightest. To seal the floor we use either oil, wax, or water based sealant. A sealed Finish gives high protection, is harder wearing and require lower maintenance.We mainly use Granwax products. (see www.granwax.com) Oil is used for effect and it really brings out the grain.

For all types of wood flooring, the routine cleaning will be vacuming or dry mopping. Occasionally they should be cleaned over with a slightly dampened mop but do not use too much water. Marks are easy to remove with mild detergent.
